Field Robotics & Autonomous Systems

Encompasses the design, control, and real-world implementation of robots across diverse domains, from the sky to the seafloor.

Key Topics

  • Aerial robotics (UAVs)
  • Marine robotics (Ocean mapping, multibeam, bathymetry)
  • Autonomous vehicles and ADAS
  • Intelligent legged locomotion
  • Robotic manipulators and off-road navigation

Overview

We take our algorithms out of the simulation and into the real world. Our field robotics team develops rugged, autonomous systems capable of surviving and thriving in unstructured environments. From mapping the ocean floor using specialized bathymetry to navigating complex off-road terrains with legged robots, we focus on real-world implementation.
